A licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with expertise in pediatric care is needed for a contract position in Miami, FL, serving a K-12 school setting. This one-year contract offers the possibility of extension or transition to a permanent role. The opportunity is within a pediatric outpatient clinic providing individualized therapy to children aged 2 to 18.
In this role, you will work exclusively with children on a one-to-one basis, focusing on mild to moderate speech and language impairments. Clients are primarily non-medically fragile and present with challenges in pragmatics, receptive and expressive language skills, reading, writing delays, articulation disorders, and high-functioning autism spectrum disorder.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments and evaluations of speech and language abilities
- Delivering individualized therapy plans tailored to each child's unique needs
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams during Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings
- Monitoring progress and adjusting therapeutic interventions accordingly
- Maintaining detailed documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
Preferred qualifications:
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology
- Experience in pediatrics, particularly within school settings
- Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
- Strong understanding of developmental language disorders, autism, and articulation therapy techniques
