Summary of Job Duties: Come join our dynamic therapy, community fitness and sports medicine family! **SIGN-ON BONUS AVAILABLE**This position is located at The Orthopaedic & Spine Hospital on the UAMS Campus in Little Rock. The position will be integral in treating post-operative joint and spine patients in both inpatient and PACU settings. We value mentorships, continuing education, and a multidisciplinary approach to care.
The outpatient physical therapist provides an individualized evaluation, during which the client, family/caregiver, and physical therapist determine the patient's goals, customize interventions to optimize the person's ability to perform functional activities, and continuously assess progress towards goals to ensure goals are being met and/or to modify the intervention plan based on the patient's needs and skills. Functional outcomes data is completed through collection of best practice data via patient questionnaires, performance measures, and documented treatment interventions.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy if graduated prior to 2002 OR Master's degree in Physical Therapy if graduated prior to 2016 OR Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy;
- Licensed as a Physical Therapist by the Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy or eligible for licensure
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree OR Doctorate in Physical Therapy PLUS (2) two years of experience in Physical Therapy
- Inpatient therapy experience with emphasis on orthopaedic conditions

Responsibilities:
Conducts comprehensive evaluations of patients' musculoskeletal and functional status, including postoperative spine or joint cases, to establish individualized plans of care.
Designs and implements evidencebased treatment interventions, such as therapeutic exercise, gait and transfer training, functional mobility, balance and endurance training, manual therapy, and orthotic fitting.
Monitors and reassesses patient progress, modifying plans of care and home exercise programs based on functional outcome measures and performance testing.
Provides patient and family education focused on mobility strategies, safety, selfmanagement techniques, and prevention of future injury.
Documents evaluations, treatments, reevaluations, and discharge summaries in compliance with UAMS Medical Center, HIPAA, insurance, and Joint Commission standards.
Collaborates within a multidisciplinary treatment team, communicating patient status and recommendations with referring providers and other clinicians to coordinate optimal care.
Facilitates smooth care transitions and discharge planning, using functional performance assessments to prepare patients and families for discharge.
Performs other assigned duties to support clinic efficiency, such as assisting with throughput and potentially cross-covering between outpatient and inpatient settings.
May perform other duties as assigned.
