Position Summary

Under the direction of the Cardiopulmonary Services Medical Director and Department Director, the Respiratory Therapist will provide cardiopulmonary care services in accordance with physician orders and department policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic tests (e.g., lung capacity measurements, blood gas analysis)
• Administer and monitor prescribed respiratory therapy treatments
• Assess and document patient response and condition
• Respond to emergency codes and calls with appropriate respiratory interventions
• Educate patients and families on treatment and support resources
• Maintain, clean, calibrate, and stock respiratory equipment and supplies
• Ensure compliance with best practices, safety standards, and hospital protocols

Qualifications

• License: Must hold one of the following:
• Respiratory Therapist Certification
• Respiratory Care Technician
• Respiratory Care Practitioner
• Certifications (required within specified timelines):
• BLS within 60 days of hire
• ACLS & PALS within 6 months of hire
• NRP within 1 year of hire
