Lead Speech-Language Pathologist/ Weekends and Holidays required/Fulltime
**POSITION SUMMARY:**
The Lead Speech-Language Pathologist provides speech, language, voice and dysphagia services in accordance with the Standards of Practice of the American Speech Language Hearing Association, the Licensure Board of Pennsylvania and the Bylaws of PMLGH. The Lead Speech-Language Pathology practice involves the examination, evaluation, treatment and instruction of patients and their family members (if needed) for the prevention, habilitation, and rehabilitation of speech, language, learning, processing, cognition and swallowing disorders. The Lead SLP will be able to work independently and proactively and assist the manager in building and growing outpatient SLP services.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:** Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:
+ The lead SLP will supervise scheduling of SLP staff, monitor productivity, conduct chart audits to ensure compliance with CMS guidelines in documentation and billing.
+ Collaborate with the manager to participate in and drive continuous improvement processes, assist in daily operations, develop and grow programs and actively participate in marketing efforts.
+ Perform patient evaluations in technically competent manner and document in a way that demonstrates skill and sound judgment while following established standards of practice.
+ Document all care interventions daily and remain compliant with departmental productivity standards.
+ Demonstrate a self-directed plan for professional development and lifelong learning, remain abreast of changes in policies and procedures and use support personnel according to ethical and legal guidelines.
+ Maintain confidentiality and professionally represent the organization in interactions with suppliers, committees, new employees, and students.
+ Develop and implement in-service and continuing educational activities to meet identified learning needs and participate in staff education activities.
+ Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required; professionalism essential. Also required are a customer service orientation, a teamwork approach, flexibility, organizational and problem-solving skills.
+ Special competency for certain special population such as Critical Care
+ Competency in Modified Barium swallow.
+ Basic Computer skills for EMR
**JOB REQUIREMENTS**
+ Masters Degree -Speech Language Pathology Program accredited by the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
+ 3-5 years of experience with adults and children and dysphagi
+ Current License as a Speech-Language Pathologist from the State of Pennsylvania
+ Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
+ Basic Cardiac Life Support/ FEES trained
