Massage Therapist

Position Summary

Under general supervision, provides massage therapy services for infant to geriatric clients. Assists with scheduling, room preparation, clean up, and payment collection as needed. Ensures all actions taken in carrying out responsibilities support patient centered care.

Unit Specific Position Responsibilities

Makes recommendations for new equipment, assists in new program development, coordination and implementation.

Provides therapeutic massage to clients and patients at the Mary Greeley Rehab & Wellness Outpatient Clinic.

Assists with customer scheduling, collection of payment for services, and customer database maintenance.

Assists staff with community education regarding massage therapy and reflexology services and assists with marketing of services

Maintains accurate, confidential client records including health history, progress notes, follow-ups, etc.

Cleans, maintains, prepares and adjusts massage therapy equipment.

Utilizes safety practices in daily activities.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

Required Qualifications (Including any licensure, certification, education):

Graduate from a School of Massage Therapy

Possession of licensure as a massage therapist issued by the State of Iowa Department of Health

Organizational Requirements:

Maintain stroke education per regulatory requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

Hands-only CPR competency

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

6 months of massage experience.

Ability to demonstrate competence and maintain current knowledge in providing massage therapy to neonates through geriatrics.
