Job Description:

The Adjunct Physical Therapist Assistant Instructor provides classroom and/or lab instruction in the PTA program, ensuring compliance with approved curricula and college policies. Requires an active Florida PT or PTA license, minimum of a bachelor's degree, and at least two years of clinical experience. Teaching experience and proficiency with instructional technology are preferred.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide classroom and/or laboratory instruction in the Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Fulfill contractual obligations during the term.
  • Conduct each class according to the approved syllabus.
  • Utilize the approved textbook and/or other instructional materials as approved.
  • Be fully prepared and on time.
  • Utilize LMS following college policies and procedures.
  • Submit attendance confirmation per college policies and procedures.
  • Maintain course grades in LMS and submit grades at the applicable times.
  • Support students by engaging them in class, answering questions in a timely manner, and referring them to additional support when necessary.
  • Be familiar with and abide by college policies.
  • Treat students and colleagues with respect and understanding of differences.
  • Assist in development of curriculum as appropriate.
  • Complete annual mandatory compliance training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director.

Requirements:

  • Licensed Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant with a minimum of a bachelor's degree.
  • Active, unrestricted license to practice as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Florida.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of full-time (or equivalent) post-licensure clinical experience in physical therapy.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise and current knowledge in assigned teaching content areas.
  • Prior teaching experience in PT or PTA education preferred.
  • Proven effectiveness in teaching and student assessment, including experience with clinical instruction.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development through continuing education or related activities.
  • Proficiency with instructional technologies, including lecture capture software (e.g., Camtasia, Kaltura) and web-conferencing tools for synchronous online student support preferred.
  • Experience implementing student engagement strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience with technology-based instruction preferred.
  • Excellent writing, oral communication, and presentation skills required.
  • Goal-driven with the ability to provide reliable insight into opportunities for improvement.
  • All degrees must be from a regionally accredited postsecondary institution.

Rate of Pay: $1,800 to $2,214 per class (Based on level of degree. Pay rate listed is for a 3 hour credit course.) Rate of pay for online courses varies
