Description

  • Assess patients from pediatric to geriatric demographics through standardized tests and observational methods.
  • Create customized treatment plans aimed at addressing both short-term objectives and long-term communication and swallowing enhancement.
  • Provide individualized speech therapy interventions that focus on language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Collaborate closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to ensure a united care approach.
  • Educate both patients and families to facilitate their progress outside the clinical environment.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring a seamless continuum of care throughout treatment.
  • Maintain precise and timely documentation that adheres to state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Keep up-to-date with professional advancements through ongoing education and collaborative efforts with peers.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) granted by ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first 30 days of employment.
