Occupational Therapist (OT) - IDD/DD

A reputable organization in Bronx, NY is currently seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join their dedicated team. This role involves providing critical occupational therapy services to individuals with developmental disabilities in a supportive environment. About the Opportunity: Shift: Day Schedule: Monday to Friday, flexible start times (7am - 3pm, 8am - 4pm, or 9am - 5pm) Hours: Full-time; part-time options available Setting: Group Homes Responsibilities: The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for: Reviewing MD referrals and medical records to determine necessary OT treatment. Evaluating and assessing needs and level of functioning for individuals. Conferencing with healthcare practitioners to obtain additional treatment info. Devising treatment plans and administering therapies. Writing detailed, outcome-oriented documentation. Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in occupational therapy. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy. New York State Occupational Therapy license. Proficiency in OT evaluation and treatment techniques. Experience supervising assistants and aides. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Adaptability to various therapeutic situations. Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Desired Skills: Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Advanced certifications in occupational therapy specialization areas. Familiarity with adaptive equipment and assistive technology. Strong interpersonal skills and empathy. Experience with electronic medical records such as PrecisionCare.
