Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients across a wide range of settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and employee health. You will deliver high-quality respiratory care in a timely, accurate, and reliable manner, supporting the overall mission of patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer prescribed respiratory therapy procedures.

Perform aerosol therapy, CPT/Flutter/PEP Mask therapy, incentive spirometry, MDI therapy, suctioning, and extubation procedures.

Manage oxygen therapy, including oxygen tank safety and all approved oxygen devices.

Administer and monitor BiPAP/CPAP therapy, High Flow Cannula, humidifier therapy, and associated alarms.

Conduct diagnostic testing including pulmonary function screening, fit testing, EKGs (adult/pediatric), and pulse oximetry.

Perform cough assist/vest therapy and manage ventilator systems and alarms.

Draw arterial blood gases and perform analysis and quality control in the Blood Gas Lab.

Maintain accurate documentation in patient care systems (Soarian), medication administration records (MAK), and dispensing systems (McKesson).

Verify physician orders and ensure timely reporting of results.

Deliver BLS (adult, pediatric, neonatal) as needed.

Participate in departmental in-service programs and other duties as assigned.

Required Licensure & Certifications:

  • Valid New York State Respiratory Therapy License or Permit
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - NBRC certified
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy
  • One (1) year of experience working as a Respiratory Therapist in a clinical setting (preferred)
