Involves working with all age groups including neonates, infants, toddlers, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics./pp/ppbEssential Duties and Responsibilities/b/pulliDemonstrates ability to correctly assess the prognosis of the patient's condition, dysfunction, and/or disability including all age groups: neonates, infants, toddlers, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics./liliDevelops an appropriate patient rehabilitative/treatment plan and goals./liliAdministers the rehabilitation/treatment plan for the patient./liliAssists the Manager, Rehab Services in areas of departmental responsibilities. /liliCommunicates with physician, social worker and/or nursing staff regularly regarding patient progress. /liliDelegates patient care to COTA and monitors plan of care./liliDelegates appropriate tasks to supportive personnel./li/ulp/ph3Additional Duties/h3ulliParticipates in patient care staffing meetings./liliAttends various Performance Improvement and patient safety meetings./liliPerforms other duties as assigned./liliAssists the Manager, Rehab Services in development of new programs for care to meet needs of our customers./liliAssists the Manager, Rehab Services with departmental functions including: operations, staffing, budgeting, PI compliance and training./li/ulp/ppbWork Relationship:/b/pulliReports directly to the Manager, Rehab Services./liliWorks closely with assigned employees and peers./liliFrequent contact with employees and volunteers./liliFrequent contact with physicians, patients and families./liliOccasional contact with vendors, public, civic organizations, regulatory agencies and other provider organizations./li/ulp/ppbWorking Conditions:/b/pulliWork is performed largely in a pleasant hospital environment with minimal chance for personal injury./liliOccasionally works outside such as to ambulate/transfer a patient./liliOccasionally works in people's homes performing Home Health OT./liliRegularly works in offsite settings such as nursing homes and schools./liliOccasionally works near moving mechanical parts./liliOccasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals./liliOccasionally exposed to hazardous material such as needle puncture, blood and body fluids./liliThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderate./li/ulp/ppbPhysical Requirements: /b/pulliRequires the ability to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb stairs, balance, kneel, push and pull objects, do prolonged standing, walking and sitting./liliRequires the ability to carry 35-50 pounds and to lift between 51-74 pounds./liliRequires the use of hands to do simple and firm grasping, fine , deep and/or strong manipulations, and to feel size, shape, temperature and texture./liliRequires the ability to be exposed to marked changes in temperature and humidity./liliRequires the ability of adequate hearing, near and far vision, color discrimination and depth perception, and the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently and do basic mathematics./liliAble to operate, and use safely, assigned equipment including knowing indications and contraindications, set-up, and clean-up following treatment of a patient.
