Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract A unique opportunity is available for Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) holding the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) to support K-12 students in dynamic magnet school settings within Waterbury, CT. These contract positions span the comprehensive school year (CSY) and provide a chance to work in resource-based models where students spend significant time in general education classrooms. Two distinct placements are offered: Position #1 - Hamden Area: Work within a K-8 arts magnet school serving approximately 550 students. This environment integrates two daily arts periods alongside the academic curriculum. You will collaborate with a part-time SLP supporting early grades (Kindergarten and 1st grade) and address a broad range of communication needs. The student population primarily includes individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and ADHD, all operating predominantly within general education settings. Position #2 - Waterbury Area: Support a STEAM magnet school focused on science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics, encompassing 6th through 10th grades. Students receive substantial in-class support, and your role will emphasize therapy services within a resource model framework. Similar to Position #1, caseloads commonly include students with Learning Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and ADHD. Qualifications: Valid SLP certification with CCC credential Experience in pediatric or school-based speech-language pathology Knowledge of healthcare and pediatric SLP practices preferred Familiarity with resource model service delivery Strong collaboration skills for multidisciplinary teams Clinical Fellowship Year completion (CFY) welcomed Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations Provide individual and group therapy focusing on communication disorders prevalent in K-12 populations Develop and implement individualized treatment plans Collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff to optimize student success Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with school and state regulations Location: Waterbury, Connecticut, and surrounding areas within Hamden Embrace a role that combines clinical expertise with innovative educational models in vibrant magnet school settings.
