Position Type: Full-Time or Part-Time (K-12) About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist (DHH) to provide remote services to K-12 students in St. Petersburg, Florida. In this role, you will help students who are deaf or hard of hearing succeed academically by offering specialized instruction and support in a virtual learning environment. What You'll Be Doing: Provide remote instruction and support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring they have access to all academic content. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to address each student's unique needs and learning goals. Collaborate with parents, teachers, and school teams to track progress and adjust strategies as necessary. Provide consultation and training to general education teachers on best practices for integrating students with hearing impairments into the classroom. Participate in IEP meetings and provide insights on accommodations and modifications for students with hearing challenges. Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Florida's special education regulations. What You Need: Valid certification or licensure as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist in Florida. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education with a focus on Deaf and Hard of Hearing education. At least two years of experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing (teletherapy experience preferred). Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods for DHH students. Strong communication and collaboration skills for remote work.
