Department: ICE | MUSL NWA Van Asche Rehab Specialty I Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties: The physical therapy instructor focuses primarily on patient care, with additional responsibilities in sports coverage, education, and other essential duties. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality therapeutic care, including comprehensive evaluation and treatment planning, to support patients in achieving their health goals. This role also involves providing athletic coverage for various sports contracts, contributing to the education and training of students, and participating in ongoing professional development and departmental activities. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy if graduated prior to 2002 OR Master's degree in Physical Therapy if graduated prior to 2016 OR Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy; Licensed as a Physical Therapist by the Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy or eligible for licensure. One (1) year of outpatient experience required Current Arkansas PT license Interest in clinical education for physical therapy aides and clinical rotation students. Ability to read, write, and communicate with clinic staff, physicians, and the public. Must possess good hand-eye coordination and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail. Additional Information: Key Responsibilities: Patient Care Evaluation and treatment plans and patient goals, therapy reassessments with treatment plans and patient goals, therapy reassessment for discharge summary, screening to determine appropriateness of therapy, daily treatments which may consist of: gait training, transfer training, functional mobility, balance training, endurance training, strength training, therapeutic exercise, pool therapy, and patient and family education. Appropriate patient documentation per department, HIPAA, and JCAHO standards, where applicable. Sport Coverage Provide athletic coverage for athletic contracts developed with UAMS. Examples would include, but are not limited to, CrossFit, ballet, and USA Track and Field. Education / Advocacy Developing and implementing student clinical rotation curriculum, hourly education lecturing for students, clinical protocol reviews, manual reviews, weekly differential diagnosis write-ups, national board preparation, In-service management for staffing, site contract development, and student placements. Monthly community educational meetings with other conservative professionals.
