Facility: GSS SD Sf Ctr Location: Sioux Falls, SDAddress: 401 W 2nd St, Sioux Falls, SD 57104, USA Shift: Day JobSchedule: Part time Weekly Hours: 20.00 Salary Range: $24.00 -$38.50 Job Summary Assists patients/residents/clients with therapyactivities and exercises scheduled in a treatment plan, under thesupervision of an occupational therapist, to improvepatients'/residents'/clients' quality of life and ability toperform daily activities. Provides, monitors and records therapyservices to patients/residents/clients with physical, cognitive,developmental and psychosocial impairments, in line with relatedstandard concepts, practices and procedures. Selects, implements,and makes modifications to therapeutic activities and interventionsthat are consistent with demonstrated competency levels,patient's/resident's/client's goals, and the requirements of thepractice setting and/or state licensure. The certified occupationaltherapy assistant contributes to this process by exchanginginformation with and providing documentation to the occupationaltherapist about the patient's/resident's/client's responses to andcommunications during intervention. Responsible for beingknowledgeable about the patient's/resident's/client's targetedoccupational therapy outcomes and for providing information anddocumentation related to outcome achievement. Follows and adheresto accepted clinical practice guidelines of professionalorganization. As needed, performs other related duties asrequested. Depending on location and facility needs, work may focuson those receiving intervention in the post-acute, long term care,and home health care environments. Qualifications Appropriateeducation level required in accordance with state licensure. Mustbe licensed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state(s) ofpractice. When working at a Sanford Health Facility (not requiredbut preferred for GSS Facilities): Must also be certified as anOccupational Therapy Assistant through the National Board forCertification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Conforms to thesupervision and licensing standards of the state(s) where servicesare provided. When applicable, may require valid driver's license.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six monthsof employment.
