Description
- Assess patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using standardized evaluations coupled with observational methods.
- Create customized treatment plans targeting immediate goals as well as long-term needs in communication, cognition, and swallowing.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions with a focus on language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
- Work in conjunction with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop integrated care strategies.
- Educate patients and their families to ensure progress continues outside the clinical environment.
- Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy sessions, keeping a continuous flow of care throughout the recovery process.
- Ensure thorough and timely documentation that adheres to state, federal, and facility guidelines.
- Stay abreast of the latest innovations in the field by participating in continued education and engaging with peers.
Education
- Earned a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if you are yet to obtain ASHA certification.
Certifications
- State license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of hiring.
