Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations utilizing standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Formulate tailored treatment plans catered to individual needs, addressing both immediate and ongoing communication or swallowing issues.
- Administer one-on-one speech therapy sessions that target communication, language development, fluency, and swallowing challenges.
- Work collaboratively alongside physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and family members to develop holistic care strategies.
- Empower patients and their families with the knowledge to support progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Participate in inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions on occasion, ensuring a seamless continuum of care.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Keep abreast of the latest advancements in the field through ongoing education and peer collaborations.
Education
- A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
Certifications
- Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first month of employment.
