Description
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations across pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups using both standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Craft individualized treatment plans to target both immediate and future communication, cognitive, and swallowing goals.
- Deliver personalized one-on-one speech therapy interventions covering various aspects of communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Work collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers to develop unified care strategies.
- Provide education to patients and families, empowering them to support progress beyond clinic hours.
- Offer inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions on an as-needed basis, promoting continuity throughout their care journey.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation adheres to all relevant state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Engage in continuous learning to stay updated with the latest advancements in the field through professional development and peer interaction.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those yet to receive ASHA certification.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is highly preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
