Job Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients through established assessments and observation techniques.
- Create tailored treatment plans that cater to both immediate objectives and ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions addressing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing disorders.
- Work collaboratively with a team of therapists, nurses, physicians, and family members to ensure integrated care approaches.
- Provide education for patients and families to promote progress and understanding beyond therapy sessions.
- Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, guaranteeing seamless care throughout the treatment process.
- Maintain meticulous documentation in line with applicable state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Engage in continual education and collaboration with peers to enhance your expertise.
Education Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if you are yet to acquire ASHA certification.
Certifications Needed
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be achieved within 30 days of employment.
