Description

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients across pediatric, adult, and senior demographics, employing standardized assessments and observation techniques.
  • Craft tailored treatment plans that focus on immediate objectives while encompassing long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing aspirations.
  • Deliver focused speech therapy interventions that enhance communication, language skills, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
  • Collaborate with a spectrum of professionals, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing teams, physicians, caregivers, and family members, to develop synchronized care strategies.
  • Provide education for patients and their families to promote skill acquisition and progress outside of clinical sessions.
  • Occasionally assist with inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring a seamless continuum of care throughout the patient's journey.
  • Maintain comprehensive and timely documentation that aligns with state, federal, and organizational protocols.
  • Stay abreast of developments in the field by participating in ongoing education and peer networking.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
