Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using both standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Create tailored treatment plans that address both immediate and long-term goals regarding communication, cognitive function, and swallowing.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions focusing on language skills, communication effectiveness, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.
- Work collaboratively with a dedicated multi-disciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families, to develop cohesive and effective treatment strategies.
- Empower patients and families with educational resources to promote progress beyond clinical appointments.
- Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring a seamless continuum of care as patients journey through treatment.
- Maintain clear, accurate documentation in accordance with state regulations and institutional policies.
- Stay at the forefront of the profession by engaging in ongoing education and collaborative discussions with peers.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if still in the process of ASHA certification.
Certifications
- Active state licensure as a Speech Language Therapist .
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
