Description

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, utilizing a mix of standardized assessments and keen observational methods.
  • Formulate individualized treatment strategies that focus on immediate challenges and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing improvements.
  • Deliver dedicated one-on-one speech therapy targeting language, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
  • Partner with a collaborative team of healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and family members to ensure seamless care.
  • Educate patients and their families to uphold therapeutic progress outside of scheduled sessions.
  • Support occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to maintain continuous patient care.
  • Document patient interactions accurately and regularly in accordance with guidelines from local, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development through education and collaboration with peers in the field.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Pathologist .
  • Preferred Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
