- Assess patients from a wide range of age groups using both standardized evaluations and observational methods.
- Create customized treatment plans tailored to individual short-term and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Deliver targeted speech therapy interventions focused on communication, fluency, language, voice, and swallowing aspects.
- Team up with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to develop seamless care strategies.
- Educate patients and families to bolster progress outside the clinic.
- Perform occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions to ensure a consistent healthcare experience.
- Document all clinical interactions accurately and promptly, adhering to required guidelines.
- Engage in ongoing education and collaborate with peers to stay ahead in the field.
Education
- A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment.
