The Hartford School District is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to join our Early Childhood Education team. The Speech Language Pathologist plays an important role within our schools and greater community. In addition to providing speech therapy and specialized instruction in all areas of speech and language, SLPs serve as collaborators across our schools and programs to improve access for students with wide ranging communication needs and abilities. Job Requirements
Masters Degree in Communication Sciences or a related field, including graduate coursework and clinical experience that supports certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).ASHA certification (CCC), eligibility for ASHA certification, or eligibility to complete the Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).Vermont Clinical SLP License (Office of Professional Regulation - OPR).Vermont Educational SLP Endorsement (Agency of Education - AOE).Primary Job Function and Responsibilities include:Case manage and provide direct speech and language services to PreK students as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).Collaborate with educational teams to offer consultation and support services.Collaborate with outside agencies, including the ITeam, VABVI, Keene Perspectives, HCRS, etc, as needed per individual student plans.Actively participate in IEP meetings, progress reviews, and special education evaluation meetings.Administer and score assessments for students undergoing the special education evaluation process, and write detailed reports.Develop annual IEP goals, objectives, and measurable outcomes.Make recommendations for classroom accommodations and environmental modifications that foster student independence and success.Complete all required documentation, including records in EdDocVT and Medicaid.Provide consultation to families regarding their childs speech and language development.Acquire, manage, maintain, and ensure the proper use and repair of speech therapy tools, technology, and equipment.Coordinate with the team and the Office of Special Education on Extended School Year (ESY) services.Support and collaborate with school administration to foster a cooperative environment for meeting the needs of students with disabilities.
