Description

  • Conduct evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using both standardized assessments and observational methods.
  • Create individualized treatment strategies that encompass both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
  • Deliver focused one-on-one speech therapy sessions tailored to communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing challenges.
  • Work in unison with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and families to devise cohesive care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families to support the therapeutic progress achieved outside clinical interactions.
  • Occasionally assist in inpatient evaluations and therapy interventions, ensuring smooth transitions and continuity in care.
  • Diligently maintain accurate documentation that adheres to state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Stay abreast of current trends and developments in speech-language pathology through dedicated continuing education and collaborative peer discussions.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) pending ASHA certification.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferably hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within the first month of employment.
