Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and evaluate patients across all age groups using standardized assessments and observational data.
  • Craft tailored treatment plans that address immediate needs and support long-term communication or swallowing goals.
  • Deliver personalized one-on-one therapy focused on improving communication skills, fluency, voice, and eating/swallowing functionality.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, occupational therapists, and physicians to ensure cohesive care approaches.
  • Educate patients and their families to foster progress and understanding beyond your time with them.
  • Contribute to inpatient interventions where necessary, guaranteeing seamless care across the recovery journey.
  • Maintain thorough and compliant documentation aligned with clinical standards and regulations.
  • Engage in ongoing learning to stay up-to-date with advancements in speech-language pathology through workshops and peer exchanges.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.

Certifications

  • Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days post-employment.
