Description

  • Conduct assessments of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics, utilizing both standardized tools and observational methods.
  • Create individualized treatment plans that cater to immediate and extended communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Deliver targeted speech therapy sessions focusing on areas such as language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing functions.
  • Collaborate closely with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to develop comprehensive care strategies.
  • Educate patients and their families to reinforce therapy progress outside clinical visits.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions to assure seamless continuity of care during treatment.
  • Ensure meticulous and timely documentation that meets state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Stay apprised of the latest advancements in the field through continuous education and collaborative efforts with peers.

Education

  • A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of employment.
