Job Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using both standardized assessments and observational methodologies.
- Design individualized treatment plans tailored to meet both immediate goals and ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions addressing a wide spectrum of needs including communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing techniques.
- Work collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and family members to formulate comprehensive care plans.
- Provide patient and family education to enhance therapeutic progress outside of clinical settings.
- Occasionally participate in inpatient speech evaluations and therapy, ensuring seamless transitions in care.
- Document treatment efficiently and accurately, adhering to all regulatory standards.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay informed about advances within the field.
Educational Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications Needed
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification needs to be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
