Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients from pediatric through geriatric age groups utilizing standardized assessments and observational methods.
  • Craft customized treatment plans that align with both immediate targets and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions concentrating on communication, language development, fluency, vocalization, and swallowing techniques.
  • Partner with a multidisciplinary team consisting of physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to create integrated care plans.
  • Provide education and resources to patients and families, ensuring support and understanding outside the clinical environment.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and treatments to guarantee seamless continuity of care.
  • Keep precise and timely records in compliance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Engage in continuing education opportunities to maintain an edge in the field and foster collaborative learning with peers.

Qualifications

  • A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Licensing and Certification

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification should be obtained within 30 days of starting work.
