Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations of clients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing both standardized assessments and observation.
- Create tailored treatment plans that focus on both immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy focused on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing concerns in a one-on-one setting.
- Engage in collaboration with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families for unified care approaches.
- Educate patients and their families to facilitate progress during and outside of scheduled therapy sessions.
- Take part in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure a seamless continuum of care.
- Document patient progress accurately and punctually, adhering to state, federal, and institutional regulations.
- Stay abreast of developments in the field via ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
Education
- A master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be completed within 30 days of hiring.
