Description
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients employing standardized tests and observational assessments.
- Create tailored treatment plans aimed at fulfilling both immediate and lifelong communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
- Facilitate individualized speech therapy sessions that prioritize language, fluency, voice, and dysphagia recovery.
- Engage in collaborative care with physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to ensure effective treatment strategies.
- Educate patients and families, empowering them to continue progress between sessions.
- Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions to maintain seamless continuity of care.
- Ensure meticulous and timely documentation compliant with both state and national standards.
- Uphold awareness of advances in speech-language pathology through ongoing education and teamwork with peers.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification needed within 30 days of hiring.
