School-Based Speech Therapist Assistant - Newport News, Virginia

Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract A school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) and Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) are needed for a contract position lasting the full school year, located in Newport News, VA. Note that the SLP role requires onsite work in Williamsburg, VA, approximately one hour southeast of Richmond, close to Newport News, and one hour northwest of Norfolk. Key Responsibilities: Provide speech-language pathology services to assigned student caseloads Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech and language skills Write and present detailed reports on evaluations and student progress Complete regular progress reports documenting student achievements Maintain accurate data and documentation for all services provided Qualifications: Valid licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) Experience working in school settings preferred Strong skills in evaluation, treatment planning, and data management Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Ability to work collaboratively with educators, families, and other professionals Location: SLP position: Onsite in Williamsburg, VA SLPA position: Newport News, VA This role offers the opportunity to support students' communication skills over the course of the school year.
