Description
- Assess and evaluate patients across various demographics including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations utilizing both standardized assessments and observational techniques.
- Create tailored treatment plans addressing specific communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs that align with both short- and long-term goals.
- Deliver focused, one-on-one speech therapy interventions targeting areas such as language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and family members to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Guide and educate patients and their families to continue progress during and outside of the clinical sessions.
- Conduct occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to guarantee seamless continuity of care.
- Document treatment plans and patient progress accurately and timely, in accordance with state, federal, and organizational requirements.
- Engage in ongoing education and peer discussions to stay abreast of the latest industry advancements.
Education
- A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is highly desirable.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first 30 days of employment.
