At Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, we’re looking for a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team!

As a Respiratory Therapist, you’ll play a crucial role in providing life-saving care to patients with respiratory issues, from infants to adults. Your skills and expertise in assessing, treating, and managing respiratory conditions will make a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide Direct Respiratory Care: Administer oxygen therapy, ventilator management, and aerosolized medications to patients with chronic or acute respiratory conditions.
  • Monitor & Assess Patients: Perform respiratory assessments to evaluate the need for therapy and adjust treatment plans accordingly. Closely monitor patients’ respiratory function and adjust treatments as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Medical Team: Work hand-in-hand with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  • Educate Patients & Families: Provide guidance and education on managing respiratory conditions, including how to use inhalers, CPAP machines, and other equipment effectively at home.
  • Manage Emergency Care: Respond quickly to respiratory emergencies and work efficiently in critical care settings such as the ICU or ER, ensuring patients’ needs are met promptly.
  • Maintain Equipment & Records: Ensure all respiratory equipment is properly cleaned, calibrated, and maintained. Accurately document treatments and patient responses according to hospital protocols.

What we’re looking for:

  • Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
  • Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner License
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist License
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate

Additional Certificates :

  • RRT assigned to NICU must obtain NRP and S.T.A.B.L.E
