Responsibilities

TMC Bonham Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital that includes both primary care and specialty physicians. The Critical Access Hospital, offering both inpatient and outpatient services along with 24-hour emergency services. The Critical Access Hospital (CAH) Program was established to assure access to healthcare services for rural residents. The program provides rural acute care hospitals with a range of opportunities for service enhancement and quality of care improvement. Quality healthcare and patient safety is our goal. The Speech Language Pathologist provides evaluation and treatment for the rehabilitation of patients with speech, language, hearing, cognitive, and swallowing/feeding disorders. Provides coordinated care to patients of all age groups. Establishes and provides plan of care of patients' well-being while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college or university.
  • New graduates accepted in clinical fellowship for one year under the supervision of a licensed speech-language pathologist who holds certificate of clinical competence (CCC) or eligible for/possess licensure in Texas and holds CCC from the American Speech, Hearing, and Language Association. BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider course according to RQI program guidelines must be completed during new hire orientation prior to working in a clinical setting.
  • Strong written and verbal skills. Must also demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, and basic computer skills. Strong knowledge of advance therapy skills and competencies.
