COTA in Vacaville, CA

A licensed Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is needed to provide specialized support in a K-12 educational setting. This contract position, based onsite in Vacaville, CA, offers a part-time schedule of 20 hours per week, serving students across kindergarten through 12th grade. The role involves delivering direct therapy, conducting assessments and testing, and actively participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) and Individualized Education Plan (iEPS) meetings.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide direct occupational therapy services to K-12 students within the school environment
• Conduct evaluations, testing, and assessments to support student needs
• Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families during iEPS and IEP meetings to develop and implement individualized plans
• Document therapy progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and state requirements

Qualifications and experience:

• Current California State license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is required
• Experience working with school-aged children in educational or clinical settings is preferred
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and with families
• Ability to manage caseload and prioritize tasks within a school environment
