POSITION: Physical Therapist
IMMEDIATE
SUPERVISOR: Director of Special Education
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
EMPLOYMENT
TERM: As IEP requirements necessitate; pursuant to WV Code 18-5-45; extended employment days may be established by HCBOE
SALARY: Pursuant to WV Code 18A-4-2, in accordance with Hampshire County Teacher Salary Schedule,
commensurate with experience and education level with county supplement plus competitive benifits package equal to approximatly 35% of direct compensation.
EVALUATION: Performance in this position will be evaluated by the immediate supervisor and
in accordance with WV State Code 18A-2-12, WV State Board Policy 5310, and HCBOE Evaluation Policy
Job Summary:
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct student-specific evaluations, assessments, consultations
- Consult with students, families, school staff members, and other service providers to develop recommendations for treatment programs and techniques, to interpret evaluation results, and/or to coordinate the provision of treatment
- Develop, plan, lead, and/or participate in educational training and outreach activities to include program development and presentation of lectures and/or workshops
- Work with a multidisciplinary team
- Assist in the development and implementations of special programs
- Gaither, store, and monitor date related to student progress for use in assessing progress toward individualized education program goals and objectives
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, educational personnel and others
- Follow confidentiality procedures regarding students, parents/guardians, and staff members
- Demonstrate behavior which reflects established professional responsibilities
- Maintain records and submit monthly reports to RESA for Medicaid eligible services
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by principal for Director of Special Education
Qualifications:
Valid West Virginia licensure to practice Physical Therapy; Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code 18-5-15c and/or 18A-3-10, as appropriate;

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff members.
Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Most commonly, the educational setting is indoors with outdoor settings for recess and field trip activities. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate (20-60dB). Exceptions include gymnasiums as well as vocational/technical laboratories where the noise levels may be moderate to loud (60-90 dB).
