Travel Respiratory Therapist

American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU Transport Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift assignment caring for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients in a critical care setting.

• Work in a hospital environment with responsibilities in NICU, pediatric, emergency/trauma, step-down critical care, and adult critical care units
• Provide respiratory care for acute, critical, and emergency cases across a range of patient populations
• Engage in neonatal and pediatric transport via ambulance, helicopter, or fixed wing
• Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts from 1800 to 0630, every other weekend
• May require on-call coverage for unit or transport
• Perform advanced respiratory therapies including invasive and non-invasive ventilation, airway management, and emergency interventions
• Responsible for set-up, calibration, and troubleshooting of respiratory equipment during inpatient care and transport
• Participate in high-risk deliveries and provide resuscitative duties as part of the NICU team
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and serve as a mentor for new staff and students
• Maintain transport certification through ongoing education and training
• Engage in QA, PI, and compliance processes including Joint Commission readiness
• Provide regional outreach education and participate in facility committees

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program
• Current IL Respiratory Care Practitioner license required if applicable
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) accepted if not RRT eligible
• Current BLS/BCLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications
• Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty (NPS) required
• Initial STABLE Certification required
• Minimum 1 year respiratory experience or 6 months critical care experience
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and perform physical demands of the job
