Job Details:

Responsible for performing select activities related to the laboratory result management of infusion patients including obtaining and reviewing for completeness ordered bloodwork results, blood culture results (preliminary and final), sending required results and documents to nursing agencies and physician offices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to pharmacy teams with including but not limited to obtaining preliminary and final patient lab results, reviewing for completeness and critical results, faxing to nursing agencies and physicians and passing to pharmacist for review and monitoring within 48 Hours of draw day.

  • Monitor and maintain electronic lab log

  • Assist pharmacy teams with discharging patient, completing all steps to the process once confirmed.

  • Appropriate and accurate documentation in patient medical record.

  • Maintain or exceed designated quality and production standards.

  • Comply with Federal and State laws such as HIPAA, regulations such as OSHA, ACHC, or other Standard Practice organizations and PBM contracting requirements such as FWA and CMS.

  • Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies/ behaviors.

  • Perform other duties/ tasks as required and assigned.

Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

  • Knowledge and experience in homecare desirable, good prioritizing, multitasking, critical- thinking and time-management skills.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Pharmacy customer service, pharmacy technician, and/or other related experience in an ancillary provider, or other relevant healthcare preferred. Infusion pharmacy experience preferred.

  • Thorough knowledge in MS Office and PC skills required.

  • Customer Service experience with communication via telephone, e-mail and face to face required.
