Your Role

  • Conduct thorough evaluations for patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics, utilizing both standardized assessments and observational techniques.
  • Create personalized treatment plans to meet both immediate and long-term needs involving communication, cognitive function, or swallowing.
  • Implement one-on-one speech therapy interventions addressing communication challenges including language, fluency, voice, and swallowing issues.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of occupational and physical therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to establish coherent care strategies.
  • Educate patients and families on progress and techniques to continue outside of clinical sessions.
  • Provide evaluation and intervention for select inpatient cases, ensuring a seamless continuum of care during patient journeys.
  • Maintain precise documentation in compliance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Engage in continuing education to stay updated with advancements within the field and participate in peer collaboration.

Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution is required.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are not yet ASHA certified.

Certifications Needed

  • Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
