Job Summary

We are looking for individuals to join our clients team as Physical Therapist - Outpatient. This position requires a Delaware-licensed Physical Therapist capable of evaluating patients and delivering individualized treatment based on assessment, patient needs, and medical conditions. The therapist must be able to provide care across the lifespan and work in both outpatient and inpatient settings, as appropriate to the employees skills and departmental requirements.

Job Description

Provision of Care/Services

  • Provide comprehensive evaluations and treatments to patients across the lifespan.
  • Modify treatment plans as needed and notify the medical team when indicated.
  • Incorporate a variety of treatment techniques based on patient needs.
  • Prioritize daily activities considering individual and departmental needs.
  • Focus on achieving the greatest well-being and highest potential for the patient.
  • Collaborate with nursing and allied health staff to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Demonstrate competence on departmental skills checklists.

Documentation/Data Management

  • Complete timely and accurate documentation (manual and electronic) by the end of each shift.
  • Ensure documentation reflects procedures, treatments, and physician prescriptions.
  • Maintain patient records sufficient for other staff to provide appropriate care.
  • Comply with legal, departmental, organizational, and accrediting agency policies.
  • Bill patients accurately on the same day as treatment.
  • Collect accurate time and data per department requirements.

Communication

  • Maintain ongoing collaboration between front office and therapy staff.
  • Provide supervisors/managers with feedback on patient or departmental concerns.
  • Facilitate communication with other health practitioners and the public.

Fiscal Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate commitment to departmental fiscal accountabilities and goals.
  • Comply with established departmental productivity standards.

Department Participation

  • Apply information from staff meetings to daily activities.
  • Attend and actively participate in departmental in-services/meetings.
  • Participate in educational programs offered by the organization.
  • Attend continuing education courses as directed.
  • May serve on departmental/organizational committees with manager approval.

Oversight

  • Utilize, communicate with, and oversee support staff, students, and volunteers within Delaware licensure regulations.
  • Complete required paperwork for student assessments in a timely manner.

Performance Improvement

  • Participate in departmental performance improvement activities as directed.
  • Understand and apply current organizational performance improvement initiatives.
  • Use performance improvement data to enhance clinical outcomes and best practice standards.
  • Perform all other duties within the scope and range of job responsibilities as assigned.

Skills Required

  • Strong orthopedic treatment skills, including evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions
  • Familiarity with standard outpatient PT equipment

Education/Training/Certifications

  • Bachelors degree in physical therapy (Masters/Doctorate preferred)
  • Delaware Physical Therapist license or Compact license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Additional Requirements

Schedule:

  • Clinic hours: MondayThursday, 7:00 AM7:00 PM; Friday, 7:00 AM5:00 PM
  • Clinician expected to work two evenings per week until 7:00 PM
  • Daily schedule is flexible and will be discussed during the interview
  • No weekend hours required

Pay Rate

  • $54.00 per hour
