Key Responsibilities

  • Create tailored treatment strategies that focus on immediate and long-term goals for communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
  • Deliver engaging, one-on-one speech therapy sessions that target language, fluency, voice, and swallowing difficulties.
  • Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including physical and occupational therapists, medical professionals, caregivers, and family members to devise effective care plans.
  • Provide education and resources to patients and their families to promote progress outside of therapy sessions.
  • Participate in inpatient speech therapy assessments as needed, ensuring consistency of care throughout the recovery journey.
  • Keep thorough and timely documentation that meets state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Engage in continuous education and professional collaboration to stay abreast of field advancements.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first month of employment.
