It is centrally located within a half hour of Downtown Detroit, Metro Airport, Ann Arbor and an hour from Lansing. It is located in a desirable community and is known for its welcoming feel due to its small size. QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Speech and Language Impaired (SB) Endorsement OR hold appropriate Licensure and Certificate of Clinical Competence issued by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Must have earned a master's degree in speech and language pathology, Competency in the content area of service Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, parents, and staff Strong communication, technology, and organizational skills Competency in student management and supervision PREFERRED Excellent communication skills Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively with colleagues Strong interpersonal skills. Effective practices for working with students of all ability levels Understanding of systems of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) Experience facilitating the IEP process Trained in, or willing to be trained in nonviolent crisis intervention RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES Complete necessary and appropriate evaluations to support recommendations to IEP Teams relative to eligibility for Special Education. Complete necessary and appropriate evaluations to support direct instruction for students assigned to the caseload of the Speech and Language Pathologist. Complete necessary and appropriate case notes to allow completion of required progress notes, and to support retention and or dismissal of Speech Services to the student. Provide necessary direct and/or support instruction as per the student's IEP to improve speech and language skills of students. Participate in a Response to Intervention process as identified by the district of assignment. Prepare IEP's and instructional goals and objectives for each student on the caseload. Participate in IEP Team meetings. Effective collaboration with parents, educational staff and community agencies to coordinate programs and services for students and families Strong diagnostic skills and experience participating in the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team process Maintain accurate and confidential records Function as a collaborative and contributing team member within the Clarenceville School District Auxiliary staff Participate in professional development opportunities and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning.
