Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for a full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide specialized support within an elementary school setting. This position offers a chance to work with students from preschool through 8th grade, delivering targeted occupational therapy services across multiple classrooms in an itinerant role. The assignment spans the entire school year, allowing for consistent, impactful engagement with the student community. Key Qualifications and Experience: Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in school settings Ability to adapt therapeutic approaches to a variety of developmental levels, from preschool through middle school Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams Flexibility and organization skills suitable for an itinerant, multi-site role Location: Bridgeport, CT, serving an elementary school environment Primary Responsibilities: Deliver occupational therapy interventions to support student participation and success in the school environment Collaborate with teachers and school staff to integrate therapy goals into classroom activities Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and treatment plans Participate in team meetings and communicate regularly with parents and caregivers Manage caseload efficiently across multiple grade levels and settings Benefits and Work Schedule: Full-time position consisting of 35 hours per week Contract duration for the full school year Opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the educational and developmental outcomes of students Interviews are currently underway for this role.
