Description

  • Assess patients of all ages using standardized tests and observation methods.
  • Create customized treatment strategies that focus on immediate objectives and the long-term needs related to communication, cognition, or swallowing.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions targeting communication skills, language development, nuances of fluency, vocal abilities, and swallowing functions.
  • Work collaboratively with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to devise unified care plans.
  • Provide educational support for patients and families to reinforce advancements made during therapeutic sessions.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient therapy assessments and interventions to ensure a seamless treatment experience.
  • Keep precise and timely documentation in compliance with federal, state, and organizational standards.
  • Engage in ongoing education and collaboration with peers to stay abreast of developments in the profession.

Education

  • A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • A completed Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if not currently ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 working days post-hire.
