Description
- Conduct assessments for individuals of all ages utilizing standardized tools and keen observational skills.
- Craft individualized treatment strategies that cater to immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Deliver focused speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, language development, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing skills.
- Work harmoniously with physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, doctors, caregivers, and families to establish comprehensive care plans.
- Educate patients and their families to support their progress between therapy sessions.
- Occasionally provide inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless care throughout the treatment process.
- Ensure meticulous and timely documentation that aligns with state and federal regulations as well as organizational standards.
- Engage in continuous professional development and peer interaction to stay abreast of industry advancements.
Education
- A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
