Respiratory Therapist Travel Contract

Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist RRT provides respiratory care to patients by diagnosing, evaluating, treating, managing, and controlling cardiopulmonary deficiencies within the physicians orders. This role also serves as a resource to CRT staff and may support special clinical projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic testing procedures, including arterial gases.

• Administer medications safely and monitor patient response.

• Communicate patient condition and care recommendations with physicians, nurses, and families.

• Educate patients and families on self-care techniques.

• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in quality and safety initiatives.

• Support and mentor staff while promoting professional respiratory care standards.

• Float to other departments or take call shifts as needed.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Respiratory Therapy, patient care, and life support expertise

• Strong critical thinking, care planning, and patient education skills

• Ability to follow protocols and contribute to quality improvement

Education:

• Graduate of a NBRC-approved Respiratory Therapist program

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - NBRC

• Current state license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (CO)

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
