Job Description and Duties

ASSOCIATE PARK AND RECREATION SPECIALIST - BALDWIN HILL'S CONSERVANCY / STONEVIEW NATURE CENTER / CULVER CITY, CA

The reporting location for this position is Stoneview Nature Center, Culver City CA This position will work under the direction of the Executive Officer.

Under the general direction of the Executive Officer, the Associate Park and Recreation Specialist (APRS) performs at a professional journey-level position. The position serves as an open space and recreation leader managing team efforts and independently performing more complex professional tasks in support of all Conservancy programs, administrative functions, and fiscal management; coordination collaboration with state and local agencies, nonprofit partners, and service providers; property management; project and program coordination and management; and all forms of written and verbal communications to the Executive Officer, governing board, and the public.

The incumbent will perform a wide variety of duties, to include those projects associated with implementing bond-funded capital outlay and local assistance programs. The position will work independently on a broad range of interdisciplinary governmental, financial and analytical assignments. The incumbent will perform a wide variety of complex functions including collection, evaluation, summarization and analysis of outdoor recreation data and community resilience from a variety of local sources within the territory to identify the needs and deficiencies in the region; preparation and implementation of plans and programs to deliver priority projects within the Conservancy territory as directed by the Executive Officer. Solicit, review and recommend grant proposals for consideration and award. Manage bond funded projects from initiation to completion with post improvement monitoring over the required lifetime of the project.

The incumbent will possess the necessary knowledge and skills to monitor, analyze, recommend and implement, manage and maintain projects and programming with minimal supervision. Attending community and public meetings as well as work in the field is required.

This position is designated as telework eligible-remote centered.
