School Physical Therapist

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract This position offers an opportunity for a Physical Therapist to provide specialized services within a K-12 educational setting. Serving a caseload of 49 students, the role supports their physical development and functional mobility to enhance learning and participation in the school environment. The assignment runs from October through mid-February, totaling 24 hours per week, scheduled Monday through Wednesday from 8 AM to 4 PM. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to student needs. Provide direct therapy services to improve students' gross motor skills, strength, balance, and coordination. Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and other school professionals to integrate therapy goals into classroom activities. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of sessions, progress notes, and student reports. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Preferred Qualifications: Licensed Physical Therapist with experience in pediatric or school-based settings. Understanding of educational strategies and laws related to special education. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team. Ability to manage a caseload efficiently and adjust therapy approaches based on student progress.
