PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIESThis individual will assess, plan, administer, evaluate and provide safe occupational therapy. This will include progression of treatment goals and patient and family education. The OT1 will assess and treat a patient caseload ranging from routine to complex patient problems and situations and utilize training in the evaluation and treatment process. Collaborate with other disciplines as appropriate to coordinate continuity of patient care. Implement treatment programs, which include addressing sensorimotor deficits, daily living skills, cognition and therapeutic adaptations. This may include use of therapeutic exercise, physical agents, manual therapy, and splinting.

Demonstrate working knowledge of the disease process, precautions, typical medical treatment and diagnostic procedures, functional, abilities, complications and implications of long term deficits related to primary diagnoses treated in service area.Provide skilled, timely and effective patient care.Follow protocols, standards and guidelines of care relating to specific diagnosis on assigned service.Plan treatment programs with the patient and treatment team.Document intervention and strategies for treatment in required organizational systems. Documentation is to include assessment, measurable criteria, goals method of treatment, home programs and adapting plan according to patients response to intervention.Participate in team rounds and other educational information to patient and support systems prior to termination of therapy intervention.Provide home programs and other educational information to patient and support systems prior to termination of therapy intervention.Knowledge of other treatment team members roles with intervention and effective methods to collaborate in patients treatment.Follow billing and reimbursement procedures.Comply with agency and division standards, protocols procedures.Participate in discipline and workgroup meetings.Participate in Quality Assurance as it relates to patient care.Articulate and integrate safety policies and procedures into daily practice.Provide recommendations and justification for equipment needs of patients.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program and successful completion of the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) examination. Current Washington State license to practice as an Occupational Therapist or a valid probational certificate issued by the state of Washington to practice occupational therapy.OR Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.- Licensed by the state of Washington as an Occupational Therapist or has a valid probational certificate issued by the state of Washington to practice occupational therapy.
