Position Summary:
The Physical Therapist is responsible for providing safe and effective physical therapy services in an Outpatient Pediatric Clinic setting. The Physical Therapist evaluates, analyzes, selects and applies goal directed interventions for the treatment or prevention of impairments/functional limitations in order to achieve treatment goals and long lasting positive outcomes.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare and implement treatment plans for pediatric clients, from birth to age 18
- Identify and implement therapeutic interventions that help develop client’s gross motor skills, self care skills, and more
- Assess clients for adaptations and use of special equipment when necessary
- Adjust communication patterns to the age and level of understanding of the client. This may sometimes include nonverbal means of communication
- Provide support, modeling, and coaching to the clients’ family enabling them to foster the behaviors and practices implemented in treatment
- Prepare and complete detailed documentation and records of evaluations and treatments
- Complete documentation required for billing in accordance with policy
- Collaborate with team members from other disciplines to best support client’s needs
- Maintain targeted caseload hours of 28 therapy per week
Required Education, Experience and Credentials:
- Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from an accredited physical therapy education program
- Successfully pass the National Board for Certification in Physical Therapy
- PT licensure or license eligible, in the state of Illinois
- CPR Certification required within 90 days of hire

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Able to receive training in, and implement, de-escalation skills for clients
- Ability to lift or carry 30-50 lbs
- Ability to work in a variety of positions, including on the floor during highly skilled, hands-on therapy
Travel Requirements
- Some travel within assigned region for training, meetings and supporting client coverage needs.
